Biography: Elvira Maria Correia Fortunato is a Professor at NOVA University Lisbon, a Member of the European Academy of Sciences, the European Academy of Sciences and Arts, the Portuguese Academy of Engineering. She has served as Vice-Rector of NOVA University Lisbon, the first Chief Scientific Advisor to the European Commission, and Minister of Science, Technology, and Higher Education in the XXIII Constitutional Government of Portugal. Professor Fortunato is a pioneer in Europe in the fields of sustainable materials and transparent electronics research. She has published over 900 high-impact research papers.
